Circle is a new gadget promising to help parents mange their student’s online time. It’s called “circle” and Disney has backed it.

I’m not a parent, so I was initially skeptical when I heard about circle. My head filled with questions: Does it really work? Does it really help? Do parents really log-in to monitor it? Can most 14 year olds find a way to beat it? Would teenage Tony appreciate it back then? Now?

I like equipping parents to help their students grow up in the age of the Internet and learn to navigate the complexities of both relationships in the age of social media and how screen time effects brain development. Also, it’s a huge step away from spying tools and I love the idea of pausing the internet to have family time.
